I'll start of with this classic from Rainer Schlegelmilch (often posted in this forum but never enough)

Jarno Trulli braking into turn 1 at Interlagos in 2001

Any other "must see" photographs out there?

This shot of Senna spraying champagne after winning at Spa in 1991 is totally iconic.

Francois Cevert at Montjuich 1973. It has been discussed here in the past and dolomite posted a link to it 5 years ago but the link is broken now.

how many WDCs in that pic?

there is also a great pic in niki lauda's book that shows 3 drivers around a corner, one with a neutral car, one with oversteer and one with understeer.

That is a great shot.

I think this one is the shot of 2007. Really sums up Fernando Alonso's time at McLaren. No surprise it was taken at Hungary last year.

i liked the ones of lewis's tyre delmaination or whatever in turkey, just cos the shape/form of the flailing tread reminded me of the comic spawn. and spawn in awsomesource

Thanks, Yes it is Brands (Druids) and I got the shot during the first A1GP weekend there in 2005. I'm not sure on car or driver details or history I'll have to check my records at home.

BTW Rolf even though Kimi and Fred hadn't earned them yet I think this foursome score slightly higher don't they? (they also did ten on the bounce between them)

The picture of Jim Clark's expression after learning of deaths at Spa after an early 60s GP is well known as one of the memorable and haunting F1 images.

There's a number from various years at Monaco, nicely composed from above that include the waterfront and/or old buildings.

One that came to mind from an old Road and Track magazine was Gilles V leading the group across the line at Spain 81.

What about the use of still cameras onboard the cars? I've seen it a few times but always thought it could be used more - just swap out a video onboard. It would take some good timing as for when the frames were taken, but today it doesn't seem like a big deal. Think of all the possibilities for BB discussions of incidents

That Kimi picture is great. I generally don't like the colour scheme of the McLaren but in that pic it looks fantastic.

The man! End of story! I saw JC many times, how lucky am I, still my favourite all time driver, and a gentleman also

If only F1 cars are "loose" like this 49, I wonder if all the drivers could do a Ronnie, Gilles or Jim Clark

I think it may also be the one John B is referring to, but it was actually taken in 1962, not 1960.

There's a pic of Jim Clark, in full flight in the co*ckpit, taking a corner, mouth wide open and screaming something to the photographer which even hearing people can lipread: 'F..k off.' Clark was of the opinion that this particular photographer was too damn close.'

Later he signed this same picture with: 'Honestly, I didn't mean it.'

Here is my favourite, Gilles in action in Argentina 1981.....

My other favourite (which I cannot find on the net ) in the shot of Johansson in his Ferrari exiting Rascasse Monaco 1985 , with a big turbo-flame-out.

I would love to see it again..

"It didn't matter whether he was driving flat out down the straight at Aintree or Silverstone, Jimmy Clark was prone to give his photographer friends two-fingered vilification; but if he was leading a race by a large margin, he would make signals to photographers moving them into the right position, and then deliberately set the car up in a lurid position so that they could get a good picture."

from Jim Clark Remembered: Graham Gauld, accompanied by two photographs.

There is another photo illustrating how "...he would fix the photographer with a stare, as though posing...", and another where he is either singing out loud or "... hurling some rude epithet at (the photographer)..." . It is possibly this last one that you are thinking of?
