PAC et l’USF ont joint leurs forces au premier trimestre 2024 afin de réaliser une enquête inédite sur un sujet très important pour les membres de l’USF: les contrats de maintenance / support #SAP sur les solutions on-premise d’un côté et cloud de l’autre et plus globalement les prestations de run autour de #SAP.Cette enquête a été réalisée en avril 2024 auprès de 110 membres de l’USF. 9% des répondants étaient des organisations de moins de 1 000 salariés, 24% de 1 000 à 5 000 salariés, 48% de 5000 à 50000 salariés et 19% des organisations de plus de 50000 salariés. Sans surprise, la majorité appartenait au secteur industriel (50%). Nous retrouvons ensuite 15% d’organisations venant du public / santé / social, 13% des utilities, 9% des services, 6% de la distribution et 5% des transports.

I heard a discussion this week about the disappointing performance of AROBS Group's shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange / Bursa de Valori Bucuresti (BVB).I'm not an expert on capital markets, and the way I (and PAC, in general) analyze #software and #IT services companies does not focus on the evolution of market capitalization but on revenues, portfolio, market positioning, strategy, value brought to customers, organizational transformation, etc.Recently, we published a short company profile on Arobs' activity in #Romania on the SITSI (Software and IT Services Industry) platform. There we highlighted that the group developed in three directions: proprietary software products, software development services, and system integration. The complexity of the organization is somehow the result of Voicu Oprean's (founder and CEO) attempts to diversify, accelerate top-line growth, and decrease the company's dependency on only one business area and one type of activity.However, there is a need to show investors a greater focus on improving profitability either through acquisitions or by focusing on those products and services with high added value, less price-driven competition, and access to customers and IT investment areas less affected by the current slowdown in decision-making and budget allocation.However, like so many medium-sized entrepreneurial companies in the CEE emerging markets, AROBS Group has been somehow a victim of its difficulties in making decisions, taking risks, and, ultimately, really wanting a gallop to a whole new dimension of business and market capitalization. From a high of over 200 M EUR in early 2022, the company is now trying to stay somewhere above 150 M EUR.Looking at the performance of much larger global players such as EPAM Systems or Globant, which have seen stock value declines of about 40% just from their highs this year, Arobs has had a decent evolution in the current context.We want to see Romanian companies reach valuations comparable to those of regional or global players, but I see first of all a need to get out of the "fear of tomorrow", a need for courage and taking some decisions and risks for a disruptive evolution, as well as more pragmatism.The IT sector is beginning to be decently represented on the promising and surprising Bucharest Stock Exchange / Bursa de Valori Bucuresti (BVB), with software, service, system integration, or cyber security companies. But most often the main brake comes from within, from founders and/or managers who did not have the opportunity to experiment or at least learn theoretically about risk-taking, the disruptive vision, or the arithmetic of the fact that 15% out of 1000 is double 75% out of 100.Through a capital increase operation of over 32 M EUR, Arobs shows determination and leadership among IT companies on the BVB, and there is a great chance to see the company's valuation accelerate up to over 300 M EUR in the next two/three years.
